The PROTON Research Incubator is an initiative designed to foster the development of a new generation of researchers and clinicians. Its primary objective is to significantly enhance the understanding and treatment of ocular inflammatory and infectious diseases (IOID). By providing an interdisciplinary and collaborative research environment, PROTON aims to equip these professionals with the knowledge, skills, and innovative approaches necessary to tackle the challenges within the IOID field. Through its focus on nurturing talent and facilitating groundbreaking research, the PROTON Research Incubator seeks to drive forward scientific discoveries and clinical advancements in ocular health.
Eligibility and Application Process - Targeted at STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) students, medical students, MBBS graduates, and residents in ophthalmology from Singapore and overseas with a keen interest in ophthalmology and IOID research.
- Candidates must submit an application including a statement of interest and CV.
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview.
- Applicants are expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to participating in the research incubator. This includes being available to attend a monthly session lasting three hours, held in person on the last Saturday of each month. Additionally, applicants must be committed to dedicating a minimum of 5 hours per week to work on their own project.
