Biography:
Amir Akhavanrezayat, MD, is an ophthalmology researcher with over 100 published articles/abstracts and has contributed to the fields of uveitis, retinal diseases, and ocular imaging. He has served as the Chief Clinical Research Fellow in Prof. Quan Dong Nguyen and Prof. Diana V. Do’s Ophthalmology Laboratory at the Byers Eye Institute, Stanford University, for the past three years. Dr. Akhavanrezayat earned his MD from Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, graduating in the top 5% of his class, and joined Prof. Nguyen’s lab afterward. His research portfolio spans novel diagnostic and therapeutic approaches, including advanced imaging, biologic therapies, and complex ocular inflammatory conditions, with work published in leading journals such as the American Journal of Ophthalmology, British Journal of Ophthalmology, Ocular Immunology and Inflammation, and Eye. He has presented internationally, contributed to multicenter collaborations, and remains dedicated to advancing evidence-based care in ophthalmology.
