Biography:
Dr Koh Li Wearn graduated with Honours from the University of Cambridge Clinical School, United Kingdom. She was a pre registration house officer in Leeds, and completed her basic post graduate medical training in Sheffield, UK. She was then appointed locum service registrar in Rheumatology in Leicester, UK for 5 months, before commencing her Specialist Registrar training in Rheumatology in the West Midlands rotation in the UK. Upon completion of her specialist training, she was appointed Consultant Rheumatologist at the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust and honorary consultant to both the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham and the Birmingham Women’s Hospital. She relocated to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore at the end of 2011.
Dr Koh is passionate about teaching, with involvement ranging from public education, preuniversity and medical students to interspecialty medical, nursing and allied health trainees and colleagues. She was a clinical core faculty member of the NHG Rheumatology Residency Programme at its inception and since 2019, has been the Programme Director. She is also Clinical Senior Lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, and Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. She has been involved in training and supervision of advanced practice nurses and prescribing pharmacist in Rheumatology. She has also been the Co-chair of the NHG Residency Wellness Committee since 2019.
Dr Koh is the TTSH site Principal Investigator for the Singapore National Biologics Register –a collaborative effort between NHG, NUHS and Singhealth institutions. She is also a co-investigator in various other research initiatives within the department.
