Biography:
Dr Chua Choon Guan is a Consultant at the Department of Rheumatology, Allergy and Immunology (RAI), as well as a Content Expert and Clinical Teacher at the Lee Kong Chien School of Medicine. As a member of the TTSH management team, he is a member of the Drug and Therapeutics Committee, and a member of the Division of Medicine / Division of Integrated & Continuing Care Medical Manpower and Operations Committee. Dr Chua was awarded the Local Study Award (Medicine) by the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) in 1999 and completed his undergraduate medical training at the University of Singapore in 2003. Between 2005 and 2020, he worked as a full-time military medical officer with the SAF, during which he undertook key appointments such as Commanding Officer 1 Medical Squadron and Head General Staff Air Force Medical Service. Dr Chua completed his Rheumatology Senior Residency training in 2018 and joined TTSH RAI department in 2020. He also underwent a fellowship training in Autoimmune Myositis at Salford Royal Hospital in Manchester, United Kingdom, sponsored by the Ministry of Health Manpower Development Plan between 2023 and 2024. Besides clinical work, Dr Chua actively participates in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, as well as medical research work.
