Biography:
Dr. Michael Samson is an esteemed ophthalmologist specializing in uveitis and ocular inflammatory diseases at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. With an MD from the State University of New York Downstate Health Sciences University, he completed his ophthalmology residency at The New York Eye & Ear Infirmary and a fellowship in Uveitis at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary under Dr. C. Stephen Foster. As Director of the Division of Uveitis Services, Dr. Samson's expertise lies in diagnosing and managing complex eye inflammations, often related to autoimmune diseases. His commitment to restoring and preserving vision is underscored by his innovative research in immunomodulatory therapy and the immunologic mechanisms of uveitis. Recognized in Castle Connolly’s “Top Doctors” and awarded the Margaret Loeb Humanitarian Award for his work on trachoma, Dr. Samson’s dedication to patient care and medical research has made a significant impact in ophthalmology.
