Biography:
Dr. Cheung is a distinguished researcher with over 15 years of expertise in ocular imaging, working across Hong Kong and Singapore. Her pioneering work focuses on leveraging image analysis techniques and artificial intelligence (AI) to study diabetic retinal disease, glaucoma, and Alzheimer's disease. Currently, she aims to transform AI research into practical solutions to enhance eye disease screening in primary care and improve triaging in tertiary clinics. This endeavor promises significant societal benefits by elevating clinical service quality and efficiency, especially in Hong Kong and beyond. Dr. Cheung's prolific contributions include authoring over 250 original research articles, along with commentary, editorial, and review pieces in prestigious SCI-indexed journals, and 14 book chapters. Her groundbreaking research in AI-based ocular imaging technologies marks a milestone in detecting eye diseases and assessing diabetic microvascular diseases via optical coherence tomography angiography. With an H-index of 55 and over 10,200 citations, Dr. Cheung's work stands at the forefront of ocular imaging research.
