Biography:
Dr. Lakshminarayanan has distinguished himself in the field of chemistry and bio-inspired materials research, culminating in his current role at the Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI) as Principal Investigator and Head of Anti-Infectives Research. His academic journey, rooted in a comprehensive science education, led to a PhD focused on biomineralization from the National University of Singapore. Recognized for his innovative research, Dr. Lakshminarayanan has been awarded prestigious fellowships, including the Singapore Millennium Foundation and ASEM-DUO-Denmark Fellowships, and has contributed significantly to the study of intrinsically disordered proteins at the University of Southern California. His achievements have been honored with several awards, such as the Innovative Scientist of the Year Award in 2017 and the Outstanding Young Research Award at SERI in 2013. In addition to his research contributions, Dr. Lakshminarayanan is committed to education and safety in the scientific community, demonstrated through his leadership roles and participation in academic courses related to ocular infections and engineering materials in medicine.
