Dr Anadi Khatri returned back to Nepal with an additional uvea and medical retina fellowship from Byers Eye Institute, Stanford University, USA, over his existing vitroeretinal fellowship here in Nepal. Dr Khatri has undergone robust training under the worlds elite and is part of the clinical team of major landmark trials currently being conducted around the world. Dr Khatri is already one of the youngest vitreoretina surgeons Nepal has ever produced. From his operative skills to his philanthropy for the visually impaired, Dr Khatri is an all-rounder seeking and working to uplift the backbone of the society. He upheld the Nepalese pride amongst the cremé dela cremé minds and doctors of the world at Stanford Univeristy and is already working on establishing the first dedicated ocular immunology and inflammation centre in Nepal so people with such systemic disorders do not go blind. He has had multiple national and international recognitions for his works like the 2020 Developing Country Eye Researcher Fellow by ARVO, Winner of 2019 International Ophthalmologists Contest by AAO, Global Ophthalmology and XOVA Awards in 2019 and the Japanese Ophthalmic Society Young Investigator Award in 2020 to name few. Dr Khatri has been working with a blind school in eastern nepal where teachers as well as students and get their eye care for free. He has also been working to uplift the education standards of underprivileged people in the same region. He is the penultimate idol of all the budding ophthalmologists and even for the establsihed ones. In a time when everyone is trying to flock away from the country, we must be thankful that there still are still people like Dr Khatri who work for the higher good of their country and its people for a better tomorrow.
