Biography:
Professor de-la-Torre is a medical professional with a diverse educational background and significant experience in ocular immunology. She started his academic journey at Universidad Javeriana, Bogotá, Colombia, earning his Medical Degree in 1988 and completing an Ophthalmology Residency in 1991. She then pursued a fellowship in Ocular Immunology and Uveitis at the Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School, USA, in 1995. Prof de-la-Torre undertook an ambitious dual PhD program from 2010 to 2013, studying Translational Medicine at the Institut de Parasitologie et de Pathologie Tropical- Louis Pasteur, Université de Strasbourg, France, and Biomedical Sciences at the Centro de Investigaciones Biomédicas, Universidad del Quindío, Colombia, focusing on ocular toxoplasmosis. Since 2011, she has been serving as a Professor and Chief of the Immunology Unit at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Rosario University in Bogotá, Colombia. Her work has been influential in the study and treatment of ocular diseases, particularly in the field of ocular toxoplasmosis.
